Note on arrival airport
If you arrive at a Federal Iraq airport (Baghdad or Basra), you will receive a Federal Iraq eVisa, which allows you to visit all regions of Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region (Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah).
However, if you arrive directly in the Kurdistan Region, you will receive a Kurdistan eVisa, which only permits travel within Kurdistan cities and not the rest of Iraq.

the online e-visa system for Iraq is currently suspended for all nationalities until further notice. As a result, no new visa applications can be submitted through the online platform at this time.
At present, visas for Iraq are only available through a sponsored visa process arranged via approved sponsors or authorized travel partners.
Current Visa Process in Iraq during suspension
Despite the suspension of the online e-visa system, travel to Iraq remains possible through an alternative method.
At present, all visas are issued exclusively through a sponsored visa process.
This means travelers must obtain entry permits through:
- approved Iraqi sponsor (individual or organization)
- A licensed Iraqi travel agency or tour operator
- An authorized governmental or institutional invitation
Each application is officially reviewed and processed in coordination with Iraqi authorities
