Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Baghdad International Airport where you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Baghdad
Day 2 : Historic Baghdad & Ctesiphon
Begin the day at Liberation Square, one of Baghdad’s most recognizable public landmarks and an important symbol of modern Iraqi identity and urban life.
Continue with a short boat ride across the Tigris River before arriving at Al-Mutanabbi Street, Baghdad’s historic literary center known for its bookstores, cafés, and long-standing intellectual atmosphere. The area remains one of the city’s most vibrant cultural gathering spaces.
Visit the Abbasid Palace, one of the few surviving architectural landmarks from Baghdad’s Abbasid era, reflecting the city’s historic importance during the Islamic Golden Age.
Walk through the Old Bazaar and Copper Market, where traditional craftsmanship, local trade, and daily commercial activity continue to shape the atmosphere of historic Baghdad.
Later, travel to Ctesiphon to visit the monumental Taq Kasra arch, the last major remaining structure of the ancient Sassanian capital and one of the most remarkable examples of ancient brick engineering in the region.

Day 3: Babylon & Baghdad Karada Evening Experience

Overnight in Baghdad
Day 4 – Samarra – Dur-Kurigalzu
Depart Baghdad and drive north to Samarra, one of Iraq’s most important centers of Islamic heritage and a former capital of the Abbasid Caliphate.
Visit the Great Mosque of Samarra and its famous Malwiya Minaret, one of the most distinctive architectural landmarks of the Islamic world. The spiral tower remains a remarkable example of Abbasid architectural innovation and large-scale urban planning.
Continue to Abu Dalaf Mosque, another important Abbasid-era site featuring a large rectangular layout and spiral minaret inspired by the architectural style of Samarra.
Drive back toward Baghdad with a stop at Dur-Kurigalzu, an important Kassite-era city dating back to the 14th–13th centuries BCE. Once a royal and administrative center, the site reflects an earlier layer of Iraq’s long historical landscape near the modern capital.
